1. Who we are
DGate ("DGate", "we", "us") provides a society management mobile application and related website (dgate.in) for gated communities in India.
This policy describes how we handle personal data when you use the DGate app, society admin features, guard desk, resident features, and our website.
2. What data we collect
- Account: name, mobile number (OTP login), email if provided, society and flat linkage, role (resident, guard, admin, vendor, etc.).
- Visitors: name, phone, purpose of visit, optional photo, vehicle number, accompanying count, visit times, approval status, and timeline.
- Society operations: notices, complaints, SOS events, marketplace listings, rental listings, pet and vehicle records you choose to add.
- Technical: device type, app version, IP address, push notification tokens, and logs needed to run and secure the service.
- Billing (society admins): subscription and payment metadata processed via our payment partner (Razorpay); we do not store full card details.
3. How we use data
- Run visitor entry, resident approval, and guard desk workflows for your society.
- Send push notifications and SMS/OTP where enabled (e.g. login OTP, visit alerts).
- Show notices, complaints, SOS, marketplace, and other in-app features you use.
- Bill and manage society subscriptions for DGate.
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
4. Photos and files
Visitor photos, complaint images, marketplace photos, notice PDFs, and profile images are stored on secure private cloud storage (Cloudflare R2).
Images are shown in the app using short-lived signed links. They are not meant to be shared as permanent public URLs.
Society admins and authorized roles in your society can see visitor and society-related media as required for gate and community features.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data.
- Your society: admins, guards, and residents see data according to app permissions and society settings.
- Service providers: hosting, cloud storage, payment (Razorpay), SMS/OTP, and push delivery — only to operate DGate.
- Authorities: when required by applicable law or valid legal process.
6. Security
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS) for app and API traffic.
- Role-based access inside each society.
- Private storage for uploaded images and documents.
- Internal access limited to what is needed to support and operate the service.
7. How long we keep data
We keep account and society data while your society uses DGate and as needed for legal, billing, and security purposes.
Visitor and visit records may be retained according to society needs and our retention settings; historical visit logs support security and audit requirements.
You may ask us about deletion subject to society admin policies and legal obligations.
8. Your rights
- Ask what data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion where applicable (some data may remain if the society admin or law requires it).
- Withdraw consent for optional processing where consent applies.

9. Children
DGate is intended for society residents, staff, and authorized adults. It is not directed at children under 13. Visitor entries may include minors as visitors logged by adults at the gate.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new date at the top of this page. Continued use of DGate after changes means you accept the updated policy.
