Who is writing this
This page is published by DGate, so we have an obvious interest in the outcome. We have tried to write the version we would want to read if we were on a managing committee — including the parts where the answer is 'buy the other one'.
We have not quoted MyGate's pricing or made claims about features we cannot verify from their public material. If something here is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
The short version
MyGate is a full society ERP. Accounting, maintenance billing, collections, helpdesk, amenity management, vendor and asset tracking, reporting — with gate security as the part residents interact with daily. It is the most complete product in the Indian market and it is priced and scoped accordingly.
DGate is a society OS with a published per-flat plan: visitor and gate, resident approvals, notices, complaints, SOS, directory, marketplace, and operational maintenance accounting (dues, ledgers, cash, Razorpay, owner My dues). Features are not sold separately. We do not replace a chartered accountant for statutory filings.
So the question is not “does DGate do maintenance.” It does. It is whether you need MyGate’s broader ERP (amenities, statutory depth, brand ubiquity) or one subscription that covers the gate and operational dues.
DGate and MyGate side by side | DGate | MyGate |
|---|
| Product shape | Society OS: gate + operational maintenance + community, one plan | Full society ERP with security built in |
|---|
| Accounting and billing | Included: dues, ledgers, cash, Razorpay, batch bills, owner My dues. Not a CA/statutory ERP | Core strength: billing, collections, ledgers, financial reporting |
|---|
| Visitor and gate pass management | Core focus: QR passes, walk-in approvals, trusted/blocked lists | Included and mature |
|---|
| Committee tooling | Notices, polls, complaints, flats, assets, entry reports, maintenance hub | The above plus helpdesk, amenities, deeper vendor/analytics |
|---|
| How you buy it | Published slabs on /pricing — no add-on SKUs | Typically quoted; modules may be separate |
|---|
| Typical buyer | Committee that wants gate and collections in one app without an ERP rollout | Committee that wants finance and operations in one ERP |
|---|
| Setup effort | Flat import, admin config, one guard training session | Larger implementation, including ERP data migration where applicable |
|---|
| Relative cost | Public rate card; compare annual totals for your flat count | Higher, reflecting a broader product — ask them for a quote |
|---|
When MyGate is the right answer
We would rather say this plainly than have you find out after you have signed with us.
If you need deep amenity booking with rules and charges, formal vendor management at ERP depth, analytics across a large portfolio of communities, or statutory books a CA will sign inside the same product — that is ERP territory and MyGate is a strong one. DGate does operational dues and the gate; it does not replace that ERP.
Brand ubiquity is also real. Most metro residents have used MyGate somewhere. Switching still means persuading people to install another app.
When DGate’s one plan makes more sense
The opposite case is common, and it is under-served because everyone in the category is trying to sell the biggest product they have.
Many societies need the gate fixed and dues collected in the same app — without migrating a decade of Tally into an ERP. DGate includes operational maintenance accounting in the same subscription as visitor management. Keep the CA for statutory work.
What they actually need is unverified people not walking in, approvals that reach a resident at work, a photo-backed entry record, notices that are not WhatsApp, and a ledger of who paid. That is DGate. Features are not a shopping list.
- You want dues, cash, Razorpay, and the gate in one published plan
- You will keep your CA; you do not want a second ERP to administer
- You want something a guard can learn in one session
- You would rather pay the slab on /pricing than negotiate modules
Where we genuinely do not compare well
Scale of deployment and brand recognition. MyGate is in a very large number of communities and most residents in metro India have used it somewhere. Residents will install it without being convinced. With a smaller platform, your committee will have to do some of that persuading, and that is a real cost.
Breadth. If you make a feature-by-feature list, MyGate will be longer. Whether the extra length is useful to your society is the actual question, but the list will be longer and we are not going to argue otherwise.
Ecosystem. Integrations, hardware partnerships, and the surrounding vendor network favour the larger player.
Where we think we hold up well
Guard-side simplicity. The guard's screen is a desk, not an ERP — the person who determines whether a gate system survives is the least confident guard on the night shift.
Published price plus maintenance accounting in the same plan. You are not paying extra for dues, ledgers, or Razorpay connect as a module.
Directness. A smaller company means your committee talks to people who can actually change something. Onboarding is done by us, remotely, rather than handed to a partner.
How to decide in one afternoon
Run both demos in the same week, with the same three people from the committee and one guard in the room. Ask each vendor to do the same four things: a walk-in approval end to end, a recurring maid pass across multiple flats, a material gate pass for something leaving the society, and a downloaded export of entry history.
Then ask each one for a total annual cost for your exact flat count including onboarding. Those two exercises will tell you more than any comparison page, including this one.
Common questions
Is DGate a MyGate alternative?
Yes, for societies that want visitor management, maintenance dues and ledgers, notices, SOS, and committee tools in one published subscription. MyGate remains the broader ERP (amenities, statutory depth, brand ubiquity). Compare annual totals for your flat count; DGate’s modules are not sold separately.
Does DGate do maintenance billing and accounting like MyGate?
Yes — operational maintenance billing is included in the same DGate subscription: monthly charges, till-today recover, flat ledgers, cash, Razorpay, integrity alerts, and owner My dues. MyGate is a larger finance ERP. DGate does not replace a CA for statutory filings. Details: /features.
Can we move from MyGate to DGate?
Flat and resident data imports straightforwardly from an export. Historical entry logs are harder and depend on what your current vendor will release, so ask them for an export first. Onboarding, configuration and guard training are handled by us remotely.
Is DGate cheaper than MyGate?
DGate publishes per-flat slabs (₹999 minimum compact, then lower rates at size) and includes maintenance accounting in that price. MyGate typically quotes. Ask each of us for an annual total against your exact flat count, including GST, and compare those figures rather than headlines.
How do I delete my MyGate account?
That is a question for MyGate's support or their in-app account settings; we cannot action it. If you are looking to delete a DGate account, there is a request form on our account deletion page.
